This corner of the National Sojourners Web Site is devoted to showcasing some of our Americanism programs. While it is our intent to promote a love of country and sense of patriotic pride in all citizens of our nation, it is equally a needful to share those feelings with our friends.

       For those not familiar with the origins of the National Sojourners Sprit of America program you might want to check the following, "The Origins" by Irv. McWherter, a brief historical sketch on how the program evolved.

       The Flag holds a very special place in the hearts of all Sojourners, and this feeling finds no better expression than in our Toast to the Flag.

       Individual Patriotism lives and dies with the individual patriot unless it is cultivated and nurtured in the youth of our nation. To this end National Sojourners sponsors a national essay competition aimed at having our youth put into words their feelings for their country.

In addition National Sojourners Chapters sponsor an Americanism Award , bar, medal and certificate, to a candidate selected from each of the high school JROTC programs, nationwide. A list of participating schools can be found on the following web sites:
